I was very proud of myself when I bought and began to use my first laptop. For someone who did not know how to turn on a computer, I was soon doing pretty well at mastering the basic programs. One day, about six months after I got the machine, my fifteen-year-old son walked by and saw me sipping a cup of coffee while a program downloaded. He told me it was taking way too long and suggested a couple of registry cleaners that could help. I had not even realized the computer was slow until he said that, but I took his advice. It was astonishing how much faster it was. The next day I impressed people by telling them I cleaned my computer’s registry to speed it up.
