My dad is not my father but father is my friend.

I grew up not knowing I was adopted.  When I got older and moved away to go to school I was called one day by someone trying to find me for my biological father.  I chose to let him receive my information and contact me.  We spoke and he said that he was sorry I was put up for adoption and it took so long to find me.  My biological mother gave me up for adoption and he never knew.  When he found out it was several years later and he didn’t have any fathers access rights  or rights to find me.  He never meant to get my mother pregnant and didn’t even know it until years later.  I told him that was OK and the system is there to protect people.  I was glad he found me and that we could become friends.
