Her Unemployment Questions Answered
Jeannie was recently out of a job, and it was the first time in her life that she didn’t have a job. As such, there were some things that she was confused about. She was applying for government assistance, and she didn’t know if she still had to pay taxes even though she’s unemployed. She called her local government office and asked, “Do I claim unemployment on my taxes?” The person who answered told her to hold while he transferred her to a different department. After thirty minutes of listening to Muzak, she finally hung up and decided to visit the local government office in person. As it turned out, she had dialled the wrong number. The people at the government office were very nice and answered all of her questions.
