My understanding of the consumer protection act 1987

It is imperative to know your consumer rights, particularly when you are sold faulty or defective goods by a company. The consumer protection act 1987 is an expansive, sixty page, PDF document that can be downloaded from the internet for free. The document is written in legalese language, but essentially outlines the situations where manufacturing companies (those accountable are predominantly the product producers) would be liable for any injuries to a person, or any damage to a persons property that has arisen from the purchase of a defective product. The original 1987 act also included strict guidelines on when advertisements for the price of goods, services or facilities could be construed as misleading to the consumer; however, this section of the act has since been removed
