Origin and Modernization Of Rugs

Rugs are special forms of textile used to cover the flooring of a house. It is more or less like a carpet but the difference prevails in the manufacturing techniques. Rug making has been a very ancient technique and was originated in Asian countries, most probably in china; far earlier than communism. Unlike modern carpeting, rugs are usually natural made and are composed of yarn or fabric. Braded, hooking, rag and shag rugs are the most popular forms of rugs all over the globe. Oriental Rugs which are mostly hand-woven are taken as a symbol of status and have very high pricing in the market. Such a rug made in the industries of South Asia, especially Kashmir, gives a plus to its quality. Some people who cannot afford the expensive ones for their homes are demanding synthetically manufactured rugs. Mostly made up of synthetic cotton and polystyrene, these types are comparatively cheaper and good looking also.
