Bake a chicken at home?

Supermarkets in my home town have recently started advertising more and more about the food they cook and offer to their customers. Baked chicken is one of them and the thing that surprised me the most is that their price is not so different compared to an undone chicken. It really makes me think, is it worth it to spend 40-60 minutes on a baked chicken at home when I can just buy a finished one that tastes pretty much the same. Only thing bugs me and that is the conditions the chicken is made under. Is the hygiene there as good as it would be when I make it at home. I wonder
