My husband, children and I were getting ready to go on a week long vacation that happened to fall during the school year. We were told that they could do a home-study program and work on classwork while we were gone. We were given assignments from all the teachers and a packet was sent home with each child a couple of days before we were to leave. In the instructions we were told to go to a website and download and print some math worksheets that were pre-specified for each lesson. When we went to the site we found so many to chose from far beyond those that we were required to get. My children also chose some of the fun ones to print out and complete as well.

When I was redecorating my home last fall, I decided to go with a 1960s theme in the living room. I did everything I could to buy authentic vintage furnishings and paintings. I think I did pretty well with it as at least 75% of my decor is right from the 1960s. The one thing I did that made this room different from other 1960s rooms is that I personalized it with a pop art portrait of my family. That was the best thing I have ever done for my home decor. I get many compliments on the portrait and my furnishings.

Caring for the first child is perpetually an anxious experience. I know I was always checking my first-born’s breathing.
