On Respecting Competition

Winning football awards is not the entire point of youth football leagues. Aside from learning and developing the sport, these kinds of leagues are also put up to encourage and teach children the importance of good attitudes and respect. A good way to do this is not to encourage your players to participate in any activities, whether on or off the field, that makes fun of or humiliates other competitors. When you are on the sidelines of the game, make sure that you do not throw any insults or cheer loudly when the other team has made a mistake. Make certain that you encourage your players to give the other team the due respect of shaking their hands whenever your team wins.
